Huntley Invited to Damian Lillard’s Formula Zero Elite Camp

PHOENIX, Ariz. – App State senior forward CJ Huntley has been invited to participate in seven-time NBA All-Star Damian Lillard's Formula Zero Elite Camp.

The camp, which will run Aug. 16-19 in Phoenix, Ariz., features 20 top high school and 20 top college basketball players from across the country, hand-selected by Lillard and his team.

"We are thrilled for CJ to be one of 20 college players invited to the Formula Zero camp. This is a huge deal and will be a tremendous experience for his growth as a player and leader," said head coach Dustin Kerns. "Damian Lillard and Phil Beckner have combined to be one of the best player/teacher combos in the game of basketball. CJ is everything we want in a member of App State Basketball on and off the court. He will truly have invaluable exposure in a few weeks in Phoenix."

Huntley is coming off a junior campaign in which he averaged career highs in scoring (9.2 points per game) and rebounding (5.8 rebounds per game), while shooting 47 percent from the field. On the defensive side of the floor, Huntley registered 22 blocks and 20 steals on the season, helping the Mountaineers post the top scoring defense in the Sun Belt and the No. 36 defense nationally.

In three seasons with the Mountaineers, Huntley has played in 88 games, including 52 starts. He has scored in double figures 24 times, while his 5.8 rebounds per game last season ranked 19th in the Sun Belt.

In addition to his success on the court, the Huntersville, N.C., native made the Chancellor's list this spring and was recently selected to represent the Sun Belt Conference on the NCAA Men's Basketball Oversight Committee's (MBOC) Student-Athlete Engagement Group.

This summer marks the second year of Lillard's Formula Zero Elite Camp. Originally selected sixth overall out of Weber State in 2012, Lillard earned NBA Rookie of the Year in 2013 and has since been selected to seven All-NBA teams. He was named one of the top 75 players in league history as part of the NBA's 75th anniversary thanks to his career averages of 25 points per game and seven assists per outing. Lillard averaged a career-high 32.2 points per game last season for Portland.

The camp will be held at The PHHacility, and NBA scouts from all 30 teams will be in attendance. The camp will embody what Lillard considers his formula for success – character, hard work and accountability. There will be character development sessions throughout each day in addition to on-court instruction and game play.
