JOHNS CREEK, Ga. — Layla Meric closed the Georgia State Invitational with a 1-over 73 that featured five birdies, including four in a back-nine stretch of six holes, to lead App State's women's golf team.
Meric tied for 55th as the top finisher with a 231 total for the 15th-place Mountaineers.
Braelyn Pippin opened the event with a 4-over 76 tied for 66th, followed by
Hannah Wang,
Ekaterina Prokhorova and
Shani Brynard. The Mountaineers totaled eight rounds of 78 or better.
Lipscomb won the event with a 3-over total, and Boston College's Stephanie Kim was the medalist with a 2-under 214.
