BURLINGTON, N.C. — App State Women's Golf returns to action Monday with the start of the Elon Invitational, which has 36 holes scheduled for the opening day and 18 for Tuesday on the par-71 layout at Alamance Country Club.
App State is one of 13 teams in the field, along with host Elon, North Carolina Central, Charleston Southern, Wofford, Radford, James Madison, William & Mary, USC Upstate, Gardner-Webb, Presbyterian, Longwood and Winthrop.
Salem Lee,
Zoe Duval,
Ona Lukes,
Maria Pinedo and
Alisa Pressley will make up the five-player lineup, while
Kendal Graham and
Addi Ritter will compete as individuals.
In the second season under head coach
Chan Metts, the Mountaineers had a record-setting fall debut at the GolfWeek Fall Challenge. They set program records for:
— Lowest 54-hole tournament team score (873, breaking the previous record of 886)
— Lowest 18-hole individual score (67 from Lukes, breaking the previous record of 69)
App State also made a mark on the program record book by:
— Posting three of the six best team rounds in program history (290, 291and 292)
— Two individual rounds of the 60s (had four in its history before that event)
— Three under-par rounds and five rounds of par or better in Pawleys Island, S.C.
