BOONE, N.C. - The App State men's and women's cross country teams are set to compete in the Sun Belt Cross Country Championships in Foley, Ala. on Saturday. The women's 5K is slated for 10:02 a.m. CT (11:02 a.m. ET) with the men's 8K to follow at 11 a.m. CT (12 p.m. ET). Both races will be available to stream on ESPN+.

The women's squad last competed at the USC-Upstate Invitational on Oct. 14 in Spartanburg, S.C. Senior
Jasmine Donohue set pace for the Mountaineers, clocking a 5K time of 17:42.5 and to place 13th overall. Freshman
Rhys Ammon stopped the clock at 18:28.0 for a new personal best, rounding out the top-40. Juniors
Lana Farris and
Karsyn Kane posted times of 18:50.3 and 18:57.3, respectively, for spots among the top-75.
The men's squad last competed at the Royals Cross Country Challenge in Charlotte, N.C. on Oct. 6. Senior
Ben Datte was the first Mountaineer to cross the finish line with an 8K time of 25:47.08, finishing 47th overall. Sophomore
Tucker Sangster stopped the clock at 25:59.04, while graduate student
Jonah Morris stopped the clock at 26:17.39.
Last Time at the SBC Championships
At the 2022 SBC Cross Country Championships, the men's squad placed second, while the women's squad placed fifth. Six Mountaineers earned All-SBC accolades for their performances.
Oliver Wilson-Cook set pace for the men, recording an 8K time of 24:28.2 to finish fifth individually and earn first-team All-SBC honors.
Ryan Brown,
Garrett Bivens, and
Chase Burrell collected second-team all-conference recognition after finishing eighth (24:40.9), ninth (24:44.9), and 10th (24:45.2), respectively. Garnering third-team all-conference honors was
Ryan Teuscher, who posted a time of 25:07.8 to take 14th overall.
Linnea Maynard led App State in the women's 5K, posting a time of 17:43.5 to round out the top-15 and earn a third-team All-SBC nod.
Karsyn Kane placed 19th with a time of 18:06.7, while
Madison Christy placed 24th with a time of 18:74.6.
