BOONE, N.C. — With three teams holding a 2-0 record in Southern Conference duals, two of them will meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Varsity Gym.
The winner of the dual between App State (4-2 overall) and Gardner-Webb (4-4) will improve to 3-0 in the league race. Tuesday's matchup will be streamed live at

Additionally, App State students who attend the dual will receive free pizza from Hungry Howie's. The 2021-22 wrestling season is presented by Hungry Howie's and Penn Station. Admission is free for students.

App State has six wrestlers with top-33 recognition in the first set of NCAA Coaches rankings. Gardner-Webb's RJ Mosley (165 pounds) and Jha'Quan Anderson (184) are both returning NCAA Championship qualifiers who won one match apiece last year in St. Louis. Trevon Majette (141), Anthony Perrine (197) and Peyton McComas (285) have also produced noteworthy pins against App State wrestlers during their careers.
The paths to 2-0 league records for App State and Gardner-Webb both involve wins against Bellarmine and VMI. Gardner-Webb won 24-15 against Bellarmine (App State posted a 46-6 win with an injury default as the lone loss), and the Bulldogs won 33-6 against VMI (a day later, App State posted a 42-0 shutout of the Keydets).

- Face coverings are not required outside Varsity Gym
- Hand sanitizer stations are available in the facility

- Parking lots are free to the public in the evening, with the Rivers Street Deck across from Varsity Gym being the most popular option for wrestling events
