HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - App State women's golf finished eighth at the Low Country Intercollegiate Sunday.
The Mountaineers fired their lowest team of the season to open the event, a 308. App State closed out the 36-hole tournament with a final team score of 618.
Florida Atlantic won both the team and individual titles.
"We improved on a lot of things this week as a team and had some individual success," head coach Heather Brown said. "We still left a few too many out there, but we know that and we know we need to do a better job moving forward."
Catherine Catherine Gamin led the weekend charge for the Black and Gold by carding the lowest individual round of the 2020-21 season, an opening-round 74. Ganim finished 21st on the player leaderboard behind a 151 effort, marking a 36-hole career low.
Melany Chong improved three stroke on Sunday by carding a final-round 76. Chong finished with a 155 event total and 31st individually.
Abby Bolt also improved from round one to that of round two. Bolt's 156 final score placed her 36th.
Kayal Ward ended her outing with a 157 final score. To round round out the Mountaineer starting five, Sarah Hardin posted a 164 effort, cutting four strokes in her final round.
App State will be back on the links March 19-21 at the Bama Beach Bash, hosted by South Alabama from Gulf Shores, Alabama.
