Cox Leads Women's Golf in Stroke-Play Debut

SPARTANBURG, S.C. — Playing in the 16-team Terrier Intercollegiate, newcomer Alyssa Cox made her stroke play debut for App State and led the way with a 41st-place finish.
 
Layla Meric also placed in the top 50 as App State took 14th in the team race (314-308-326—948).
 
Cox had a pair of 76s on Monday, when 36 holes were played at Carolina Country Club. Cox, Meric and Hannah Wang all had 76s in Round 2. Mary-Sears Brown also scored in all three rounds for the Mountaineers.
