BOONE, N.C. - App State women's cross country posted a first-place finish on Friday evening at the Wildcat XC Classic hosted by Johnson & Wales.
App State tallied 20 points with the team title, while nine of the runners finished in the top 10.
It was a plethora of PRs and season-bests for the Apps' second straight team title.
Savannah McIntosh's time of 18:21.2 was the second-fastest time of the race and a personal high for the sophomore.
Alison Esparza put forth her best showing of the season as she crossed the line with a time of 18:23.3 for a PR and third-place finish.
Taylor Houston posted a personal best time of 18:54.9 to come in fourth, while
Linnea Maynard came across the finish line with a time of 19:03.8 to finish fifth.
Abby Granberg's finish of 19:08.0 was a PR as well, giving a freshman a sixth-place showing.
Madison Christy finished in seventh for a season-best time of 19:12.0 before
Lana Farris beat her previous mark by over a second with a time of 19:12.5 to finish 8th.
Abby Lee (9th) and
Morgan Kornke (10th) rounded out the top 10 with a time of 19:23.2 and 19:30.3, respectively. Both runners set personal highs on Friday to keep the trend going.
Danielle Lugo (13th) also set a PR with a time of 20:03.7 before
Bianca Copeman (14th - 20:14.2) and
Angelina Diblasi (16th-20:42.1) rounded out the leaders for the Black and Gold.
App State will now set its sights towards next Friday, Oct. 29 at the Sun Belt Championships in Mobile, Ala.

McAlpine is well known as a fast course. We rarely get to fit in our schedule.
On the host site
Johnson and Wales just started a program, and they found a date they could host. It worked out well for us, and it gave a chance for this group to shine.
