Women's Soccer signs 10 to 2020 Recruiting Class

BOONE, N.C. - App State women's soccer head coach Sarah Strickland is excited to announce the 2020 signing class. 

Strickland brings in three forwards, three midfielders, two defenders, and two goalkeepers from six different states in North Carolina, Texas, Georgia, Maryland, Florida, and Louisiana.

"I am excited to officially introduce our 2020 class," coach Strickland said. "Impact, balance, and consistency were the keys to creating this class, and we believe we have answered those needs. We are thinking about all of App Nation right now and hope that everyone is staying safe and healthy during this season."

Holly Beaver | Forward | 5'8 | St. Petersburg High School | St. Pete Beach, Fla.
Beaver spent her high school career playing under Rui Farias at St. Petersburg, Fla. She was named to the All-Florida High School Athletic Association team in back-to-back years in her sophomore and junior seasons. In her senior campaign, she earned All-Star County Best 11 and helped her team capture three district championships, two regional titles, and a county title, while appearing in the state finals twice. She earned a pair of scholarships after she was being named the MVP of Pinellas County, leading to an All-Star game appearance. The incoming Mountaineer led her team with a staggering 30 goals scored. For the Tampa Bay United under Jim Cote, Beaver led her team in goals scored three years in a row and was a two-time state finalist in 2016-17 and 2017-18. Born on Sept. 23, 2002, Holly is the daughter of Steve and Angie Beaver and has two siblings, Chloe and Tia. Her interests include playing the guitar, piano, drums, cooking and visiting the beach. Beaver intends to major in exercise science and nutrition when she arrives on campus. 
 


Kelli Bostick | Goalkeeper | 5'7 | Sprayberry High School | Marietta, Ga.
Bostick played under Jason Page at Spray Berry in the Peach State, winning numerous awards between the posts. She was a two-time Georgia High School 6A all-region member and a two-time Georgia Divarsity All-Star honoree. She was a two-time captain of her team in her sophomore and junior seasons, while she garnered defensive player of the year honors twice. Bostick also got it done in the classroom as a three-time scholar-athlete. The goalkeeper was also successful in travel ball for the Concorde Fire, where she helped the team finish third in the U-16 ECNL National Championships in 2016. Born on October 10, 2001, Kelli is the daughter of Keith Bostick. She has one sibling, Kirbe. Her father ran 400m hurdles at Morehouse College. Her cousin is former NFL and Georgia Tech standout wide receiver, Calvin Johnson. 
 


Katie Fuller | Forward | 5'4 | Northwood High School | Pittsboro, N.C.
Fuller played her high school ball under the tutelage of David Holub. She was named all-conference during her freshman and junior year. On top of her all-region selection her junior season, Fuller was a member of the all-region squad and was nominated for the all-state team. Fuller led her team in goals scored her junior campaign. The in-state native played her travel ball with the North Carolina Football Club for Pete Sadin. Born on August 5, 2001, Fuller is the daughter of Kristen Fuller. She has one sibling, Korinne. Her hobbies include wake skating and snowboarding. She intends to major in nursing. 
 

 

Megan Gregg | Midfielder | 5'8 | Green Hope | Cary, N.C.   
Gregg posted a solid high school career under Jason Wolfe. She was named all-region and all-conference honorable mention her junior campaign after scoring four goals with five assists for 13 points. She scored one goal with one assist her senior year in the shortened season. Gregg was the captain of her team this season. She played her travel ball with Wake FC in 2018 and 2020 and North Carolina WPSL in 2019. She started in all 35 games in 2018-19, scoring seven goals with 20 assists. Last season, she started in 32 of 33 games with eight goals and 18 assists. Born on July 9, 2002, Gregg is the daughter of Michael and Carolyn Gregg. She has one sibling, Cameron. Megan has excelled in the classroom, earning the Appalachian Excellence Scholarship for the upcoming school year. Gregg plans to major in biology at App. 
 

  
Jordan Grigsby | Defender | 5'8 | Mandeville Lakers | Slidell, La. 
Grigsby put forth a successful high school career in the Bayou, as she was named to the All-State All-American team in back-to-back seasons, which featured the top 100 players in the nation. The future Mountaineer was a Region 3 Most Valuable Player, helping her team capture the regional title in 2018. Grigsby was a three-time LHSSCA First-Team All-State in division I,  and was most recently being named all-state the third season in a row. Her awards didn't stop there, where she was for three straight years all-district her freshman, sophomore and juniors seasons. She earned All-Metro honors back-to-back years and named the 2019 All-Metro Defensive MVP. 
 


Mumu Guisasola | Defender | 5'8 | Our Lady of Lourdes Academy  |  Miami, Fla.
Guisasola played her high school ball under Ramiro Bengochea all four seasons. She was First-Team All-Dade County her junior campaign. The Florida native played under Alan Hough for FC Prime/Sunrise in the ECNL. Guisasola she helped her team finish first place in the Disney Showcase qualifier in 2016, and was a semifinalist in 2017 at the Jefferson Cup Showcase. Mumu's squad was a Florida State Cup quarterfinalist in 2016 and 2017 and was an MVP at the WAGS Showcase in 2014. In her sophomore season, she helped Lourdes Academy capture a state title. Guisasola earned first-team all-state in her junior and senior years. She helped her team win the district, regional and state titles as well in her sophomore and senior seasons. Born on Sept. 14, 2001, Mumu is the daughter of Jorge and Barbara Guisasola. 
 


Kaitlyn Little | Midfielder | 5'3 | South Meck | Charlotte, N.C. 
A four-year letterwinner at South Meck, Little had a solid four-year career where she posted 31 goals with 18 assists for 80 points. She had a breakout junior campaign with 16 goals while posting back-to-back career highs of seven assists her freshman and sophomore seasons. She was named Freshman of the Year in 2016-17 and was named all-conference and all-region in two straight seasons. She played her travel ball for the Charlotte Soccer Academy under Ian Dennis, and was an elite team captain. Born on Oct. 18, 2001, Kaitlyn is the daughter of David and Mary Jo. She has two siblings, Sophie and Greyson. 
 

  

Jordan Rountree | Midfielder | 5'8 | Ridge Point High School | Missouri City, Texas
Rountree helped her team post a 17-1-2 mark this season and a perfect 13-0 mark in the district. Rountree was first-team all-district her junior season while showcasing her work in the classroom where she was first-team academic all-district three years in a row. In 2017, she was named Newcomer of the Year and two seasons later in 2019 was named the Defensive Player of the Year. Born on Aug. 31, 2001, Jordan is the daughter of Brian and Jennifer Rountree. Her interests include american sign language. She intends to major in exercise science with a minor in communication disorders. Her father played baseball at Babson College and was an academic all-conference selection, while her uncle played golf at Babson. 

   

Jazz Salters | Goalkeeper | 5'7 | Maryland United. | Fredrick, Md. 
The goalkeeper started all four years for her high school team and showcased stellar leadership as a two-year captain. She led her team to its first regional title and an appearance in the state finals. Salters was named Defensive Player of the Year back-to-back years. She holds the single-season mark for shutouts with 11, most career clean sheets with 20, and the lowest goals-against average at a staggering clip of .550. For her impressive numbers, she was named first-team all-area three times and all-state honorable mention. Off the field, was part of the Science National Honor's Society, and is the President of the National English Honor's Society. Her hobbies include gardening, backing and taking part in tutoring clubs at her school. 


Izzi Wood | Forward | 5'7 | Charlotte Soccer Academies ECNL and DA team | Hickory, N.C. 
Wood was the top scorer in the North Carolina 3A with a whopping 53 goals and 14 assists, which was top 10 in the country. She enjoyed a decorated high school, earning two varsity letters in soccer, basketball and football at Hickory High School. Wood recorded numerous awards her junior season, where was US Soccer Coaches All-Mid Atlantic Region. She was named All-Conference and All-Region before earning All-State honors. In 2019, she was recognized as the 4A/3A Northwestern Conference Player of the Year after being the top scorer in the North Carolina 3A with a whopping 53 goals and 14 assists, which was top 10 in the country. Wood made the 2019 Charlotte Observer All-First Team and HHS Offensive Player of the Year. This season, she was the Charlotte Golden Boot award winner and Charlotte Soccer Academy Elite Girls Player of the Year. Wood helped the Charlotte Academy squad to a pair of state cup titles and an appearance in the regional finals. Born on May 22, 2002, Izzi is the daughter of Warren and Amy Wood. She has two siblings, Gracyn and Turner. Her hobbies include boating, paddle boarding and outdoor activities.
