BOONE, N.C. -- The App State strength and conditioning department has announced its Olympic Sports Power Club winners and four National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) All-American Athlete Award winners.
Athletes from each Olympic sport team were chosen as Power Club Award winners by the strength and conditioning department at App State. The receipients exemplified certain qualities in the weight room such as leadership ability, work ethic, winning attitude, attendance, above average ability to follow instructions and the Olympic sports performance standards. Each winner will be nominated for the NSCA All-American Award next year. The winners for each Olympic sport are:
In addition to the Power Club Award winners, four Mountaineers have been named recipients of the NSCA All-American Athlete Award.
Jessica Easley (women's soccer),
Rachel Gaines (field hockey),
Emma Longley (volleyball) and
Alex McGrath (men's soccer) all earned the award. The honor recognizes athletic accomplishments and their dedication to strength and conditioning.
The National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) is an international nonprofit professional association founded in 1978 and is dedicated to advancing the strength and conditioning profession around the world.
