BOONE, N.C. – App State Athletics and Foscoe Companies have announced a multi-year jersey patch sponsorship, enhancing the longstanding partnership between the two brands.
Through the agreement, a Foscoe Companies jersey patch will be worn on the uniforms of all men's and women's basketball student-athletes for the next three seasons.
"We are incredibly grateful for the way Foscoe Companies continues to invest in App State," Director of Athletics Doug Gillin said. "The Harrill family shares our vision for providing Mountaineer student-athletes with a world-class experience. We are excited to team up with a local partner who is not only committed to elevating the App State brand but values our collective impact within the High Country community and beyond."
Named after the town of Foscoe, N.C., Foscoe Companies was founded by Missy Harrill and her late husband, Mark, in 1987 with the dream of bringing the best of High Country living to families who shared their passion. Today, Missy and her sons, Jay and Brad, have seen those dreams realized through their construction of over 900 homes in and around Boone, including recently completed communities Echota Summit and The Bluffs at Blowing Rock.
"App State Basketball has been part of our family for as long as I can remember," Jay Harrill said. "I was at my first home game before I turned one, and growing up, the players were basically our babysitters — they'd pick us up from school and hang out with us until Mom and Dad got off work. We believe in what Coach Kerns, Coach Sharp and their programs are building. With everything that's changed in college athletics over the last three or four years, we want to do our part to make sure our coaches and student-athletes have the resources they need to compete at the highest level."
The Harrill family's long-standing support for App State dates back to Missy's time as a student – she graduated with a degree in interior design and marketing in 1993. As Circle of Excellence members, the Harrill family made a transformational gift to App State Athletics in 2020 with their investment in the Mark E. Harrill Basketball Practice Facility.
Men's basketball head coach Dustin Kerns:
"We are thrilled to expand our deep relationship with the Harrill family and Foscoe Companies through this historic jersey patch partnership. Missy, Jay and Brad have been pillars of our program for years, from their transformative gift toward the Mark E. Harrill practice facility to their constant presence in the High Country community. Wearing the Foscoe logo on our uniforms is a proud reminder of what 'Mountaineers helping Mountaineers' truly means, and we are honored to represent their incredible legacy every time we step onto the court."
Women's basketball head coach Alaura Sharp:
"We are incredibly grateful to the Harrill family and Foscoe Companies for their continued support of App State Athletics and our women's basketball program. Having the Foscoe Companies patch on our jerseys this season represents much more than a partnership - it represents the impact that the Harrill family has had on the lives of our student-athletes and staff. Their support helps us provide a world-class experience and gives our athletes opportunities to grow and compete at the highest level."
