BOONE, N.C. - App State women's soccer will host Duquesne in its home opener on Friday at 2 p.m. in the first of back-to-back home matches. The Mountaineers will face UNCA on Sunday at 4 p.m. at Ted Mackorell Soccer Complex.

Scouting Duquesne (0-1-1)
The Dukes are off to a 0-1-1 start after falling to then-No. 11 West Virginia (2-0) and tying Loyola Marymount in overtime, 1-1. Duquesne's Deena DeBaldo has the team's lone goal, while Megan Virgin has seen all 200 minutes between the posts. The Dukes return eight of 11 starters from last season and 20 of 29 letterwinners.
Scouting UNC Asheville (1-1-0)
The Bulldogs are 1-1 after the opening weekend. UNCA fell to American (2-0) before knocking of ETSU on Sunday in a 1-0 overtime victory. Skyler Chillson scored the winning goal in the 95th minute to lift UNCA to victory.

Duquesne: Friday's meeting is the first between the Mountaineers and Dukes
UNCA: App State is 10-8-1 all-time against UNCA with Sunday's contest being the first since 2013. Appalachian has won the past six matchups dating back to the 2007 campaign.
