Women's Golf Set to Host Annual Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate

BOONE, N.C. – With two wins in the books this season, the App State women's golf team is looking for more of the same in their regular season finale this weekend.
 
This Sunday marks the first round of the annual Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate hosted by the Mountaineers in Morganton, N.C. at Mimosa Hills Golf and Country Club. The two-day, two-round Donald Ross design will play around 5,800 yards at a par-72.
 
"We will be more comfortable at Mimosa Hills," head coach Heather Brown said. "I'm looking for simple golf and a lot of pars."
 
Along with two wins coming at the Bucknell Spring Break Intercollegiate and the French Broad Collegiate Invitational, the Apps have finished in the top-half of the field two other times out of five tournaments played this spring, for a total of eight out of 11 matches in 2018-19.
 
"The girls are starting to see what it is like to come together and play as a team," Brown said.
 
Competing alongside Appalachian State will be Elon, Gardner-Webb, Longwood, Sandhills Community College, USC Upstate, Western Carolina and Wofford.
 
With 10 days until the April 15 clash at the Sun Belt Championship in Daytona Beach, Fla., this roster full of experienced players and leaders are looking to sure up their games for this season's penultimate matchup.
