CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. --
Ryan Brown placed 45th overall as Appalachian State men's cross country finished 15th at the NCAA Southeast Regional on Friday.
The Mountaineers tallied 427 points in the meet. Virginia finished first with 79 points, Virginia Tech was second with 109 points and N.C. State rounded out the top-three with 116 points.
Brown shattered his 10K PR by nearly a full minute. He posted a time of 31:07.9, bettering his PR of 32:04.1 set last season. In addition, his time now ranks as the eighth fastest 10K time in program history.
Isaac Benz and
Ben Cignarale also recorded top-100 finishes. Benz crossed 90th overall in a PR time of 31:59.3 and Cignarale placed 97th with a PR mark of 32:07.3.
George Hotelling finished 102nd in 32:14.8,
Oliver Wilson-Cook was 108th in 32:19.8,
Gable Dershem recorded a 118th place finish in 32:42.6 and
Michael Flanagan finished 155th with a time of 33:19.5.
