NEW ORLEANS - App State sophomore
Aaron Kidd collected his first career Sun Belt Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week nod, the league announced on Wednesday.
Kidd paced the pack at the Firetower Project Run on Oct. 3, placing first with an 8K time of 24:37.2. He was six seconds shy of his 8K personal best of 24:31.2, which he set at the 2024 Joe Piane Invitational. The Hurricane, WVa. native helped the Mountaineers to a first-place finish in the team standings with a season-low of 23 points.
Between the men's and women's cross country teams, Kidd is the third Mountaineer to earn the weekly distinction this fall. Fellow sophomores Breanna Budzinski and
Thomas Wlazlowski collected SBC Runner of the Week honors on Sept. 3 and Sept. 17, respectively.
App State will close out the regular season with a trip to Princeton, NJ for the Princeton Fall Classic on Oct. 17 before heading to Foley, Ala. for the Sun Belt Championships on Oct. 31. Action at the Princeton Fall Classic will start at 10:30 a.m. with the women's 6K followed by the men's race at 8K.
