ROCK HILL, S.C. – The App State women's golf team went down to the Waterford Golf Course and turned in a sixth-place finish at the Winthrop Fall Invitational during a one-day, two-round event Monday.
Mogie Adamchik led the Mountaineers with an individual tie for 12th place at the par-72, 6,057-yard course. She finished 6-over with rounds of 74 and 76, and her five birdies were tied for fifth-most of any golfer in the field.
Abby Bolt tied for 18th at 9-over (77, 76),
C.C. Ganim tied for 21st at 10-over (76, 78) and
Sarah Hardin tied for 24th at 11-over (78, 77).
Hannah Wang rounded out the Mountaineers in the top 30 with a tie for 27th at 12-over (77, 79).
As a team, App State posted rounds of 304 and 307 to finish 35-over and ahead of host Winthrop, Presbyterian College and North Carolina A&T.

Heather Brown's Mountaineers will play their next tournament at home when they host the Oct. 14-15 Hound Ears Intercollegiate at the Hound Ears Golf Club in Boone.
