LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Three members of the Appalachian State women's cross country team placed in the top-60 as the Mountaineers finished ninth of 39 teams at the Greater Louisville Classic on Saturday.
App State finished just five points shy of eighth placed and totaled 336 points. Middle Tennessee State won the meet, which featured 39 teams, with 103 points.
Izzy Evely continued her strong 2019 season with her third straight top-10 finish. She crossed 10th overall in the race that featured 315 runners in 17:29.2.Â
Sarah Venable and
Kylee Frady also posted top-60 finishes for the Black and Gold. Venable recorded a PR by over 13 seconds, crossing 37th over in 17:46.2. Frady placed 58th in the field with a time of 18:01.4
Natalie Richardson finished 104th in 18:28.1,
Sarah Sandreuter was 128th in 18:39.8 and
Lila Peters crossed 145th in 18:44.9.
App State will shift its focus to the Royals Challenge on Oct. 11 and the HPU VertKlasse Open on Oct. 18. The two meets are the final races before the Sun Belt Championships on Nov. 2.Â
