Frady Leads Women's Cross Country at VertCross Invitational

KERNERSVILLE, N.C. -- Kylee Frady finished fourth overall to lead Appalachian State women's cross country to a fourth place finish at the VertCross Invitational on Friday evening.

App State tallied 87 points in the meet, which featured 19 teams. Host High Point won the team title with 47 points, Wake Forest and Clemson both finished with 59 points, with the Tigers winning the tiebreaker to finish second.

Frady navigated the 6K course in 21:53.63, finishing over nine seconds ahead of the next competitor.

Sarah Venable and Sarah Sandreuter also posted top-20 finishes for the Mountaineers. Venable placed 13th overall in 22:30.82 and Sandreuter was 17th with a time of 22:49.92.

Lila Peters finished 23rd in 23:01.62, Natalie Richardson crossed 32nd in 23:18.43 and Madi Provo was 38th with a time of 23:28.23.

The Mountaineers will shift their focus to the Sun Belt Championships, which take place on Nov. 2 in McDonough, Ga. App State has won two of the past three conference titles, including last year.
