CLEMSON, S.C. - Appalachian State University men's tennis (1-3) fell in its non-conference match at Clemson (3-0) , 6-1, on Saturday afternoon in the Duckworth Family Tennis Center.
Appalachian came into the contest against a hot Clemson squad that hasn't lost a doubles match and was 11-1 in singles.
Clemson got off to a strong start capturing the first two doubles matches to take the early 1-0 lead. That start gave the hosts momentum to win the first five singles contests and the contest.

Bence Tamas, who defeated Mike Agee of Clemson in a tie-breaking third set, 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (10-8).
Zion Heaven battled hard, but ultimately fell in three sets 6-7 (5-7), 6-3, 1-0 (0-7), with two of the frames going into a tiebreak. Heaven came back from a first-set loss to force the third stanza.
The Mountaineers will look to bounce back next Saturday when they travel to Richmond for a 12 p.m. match.
