Men's Track and Field Takes Sixth at Championships

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Appalachian State University men's track and field finished the indoor season on Tuesday and took sixth at the Sun Belt Conference championships.

The Mountaineers were led on day two by Kyle McFoy, who won the 5,000 meter run with a time of 14:31.90. The time for McFoy was a personal-best by over 30 seconds and is also good for third all-time in program history.

Michael Ellis finished fifth in the same event with a time of 14:40.15. That time for Ellis is a personal-best and is also good for sixth all-time. Josh Cox finished ninth with a time of 14:46.52. It was also a personal-best for Cox.

The triple jump went well for the Mountaineers on day two with Kimani Hoffman placing second, while Henry Bustle took fourth. Hoffman's jump was 50-4.00 feet, while Bustle jumped 49-1.00 feet. Also finishing in the top five was Isaiah Relliford who took fifth with a jump of 48-8.75. All three jumps were good for personal-bests.

In the shot put, Nathan Milch took fifth with a throw of 53-9.00. The throw for Milch is a personal-best and is good for sixth all-time. Raphael Rojas finished in seventh in the 400 meter dash with a time of 48.91.

Ryan Hastings finished in fifth in the men's 800 meter run. Hastings ran a time of 1:53.75, which was good for a personal-best and ninth all-time.

Appalachian State's 4x400 meter relay team finished in fifth with a time of 3:17.86. The team consisted of Josh Hanna, Hoffman, Hastings and Rojas.
