SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Appalachian State University men's cross country finished fourth at the USC Upstate Invite on Saturday.
Michael Ellis placed fifth overall in a personal record (PR) time of 25:16 to lead the Apps. Kyle McFoy was right behind Ellis in eighth place while running in a time of 25:23.
Chris Anderson and Josh Cox finished 23rd and 25th, respectively. Anderson finished in a PR time of 25:45, while Cox ran a time of 25:50. Evan Laratta rounded out the Mountaineers top five and placed 31st with a time of 26:21.
The Mountaineers also kept the Little Brown Jug on Saturday by defeating Western Carolina. The all-time series moves to 16-2 in favor of the Apps over the Catamounts.
Appalachian will have some time off before they host the Blue Ridge Open on Friday, Oct. 17 at 3:30 p.m.
