BOONE, N.C. – Riding a streak of three consecutive clean sheets, App State Soccer will host William & Mary in a senior day showdown on Sunday at 1 p.m. The Mountaineers will honor eight seniors:
Molly Coles,
Hayden Petrick,
Makayla Mulholland,
Olivia Simon,
Ella Hoover,
Marley Kahle,
Kaytan Kroboth and
Sofia Goclowski in a pre-game ceremony at 12:20 p.m. Fans are encouraged to arrive early for the ceremony and vuvuzela giveaway and stay late for postgame autographs on the field following the match. The contest will be streamed on ESPN+.
App State (3-1-1) is coming off a 4-0 road win over East Carolina on Thursday. Junior forward
Ellie Garrison scored two goals, one in each half, with both tallies coming courtesy of

Lucy Harrington also found the back of the net in the win. Goalkeeper
Hanna Skogsfors cataloged four saves in the shutout. App State held an 18-5 shot advantage and outgained the Pirates 9-2 in corner kicks. Harrington leads the Mountaineers with six points on the season and is the reigning Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week following a goal and an assist in Sunday's win at Gardner-Webb. The Mountaineers have outscored their opponents 9-4 this season and outgained the opposition 41-14 in corner kicks.
William & Mary (0-2-1) is coming off a 3-1 loss at home to Virginia Tech on Thursday. Sophomore midfielder Mia Abbey scored the lone goal for William & Mary and has now registered a tally in each of the three games the Tribe have played. The Tribe is led by head coach Julie Shackford who is in her 33
rd season as a women's soccer head coach and her ninth in Williamsburg, where she was a three-time All-American player for the Tribe. William & Mary is coming off a 7-7-4 season in 2025 that saw the team go 5-2-2 in league play, good for 2nd place in the CAA South. They were picked to finish third in the division this season. Senior midfielder Lindsey Wilson was named a preseason all-conference honorable mention.
App State and William & Mary are meeting for the second time in as many seasons but just the third time in program history. The Tribe won last season's meeting 2-0 in Williamsburg, scoring a pair of second half goals to hand App State its first setback of the season after a 3-0 start to the year. Sunday's matchup will be the first time that the Tribe have visited Boone.
