The Mountaineers (5-1-2) most recently earned a 2-0 victory over ETSU on Sept. 10 in Johnson City, Tenn., extending their unbeaten streak to seven straight games, matching the longest in program history. Junior

Olivia Simon both scored their third goals of the season against the Buccaneers. Simon now has recorded a point in the last four matches and has scored goals in three of the four. Sophomore
Libby Bermingham earned her first assist of the season and leads the team with 11 points. The match also marked the Mountaineers fourth clean sheet of the season. App State's five non-conference wins are the most since 2016.
Georgia State (5-2-1) enters the contest following a 2-0 win against Gardner-Webb on Sunday. Junior Sunniyah Tucker and freshman Brielle Delgado each scored a goal in the win, while goalkeeper Alondra Iriarte recorded her third shutout of the season. The Panthers enter Friday's match on a five-game unbeaten streak. Tucker was named the Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week, joining Aaliyah Faddoul to earn the honor this season. Faddoul and Carys Fraser were named to the Sun Belt preseason all-conference team, and the Panthers were picked to finish fourth in the league's preseason poll. Tucker has scored five goals and added three assists this season, while Faddoul has scored seven goals and tallied a pair of helpers. Faddoul has earned all-conference honors each of the past three seasons.
The Mountaineers and the Panthers have met a total of 14 times since App State joined the Sun Belt Conference in 2014. The last time the two teams met was during the 2025 season where Georgia State won 1-0 in Atlanta. The Panthers lead the series 9-3-1.
