Meet Rewind
A new App State and Sun Belt indoor women's pole vault record highlighted the Mountaineers' split weekend at the Doc Hale VT Meet and Camel City Sprints and Distance meets. Sophomore
Lilly Nichols reset her own program and conference indoor women's pole vault record with a clearance of 4.27m (14' 0") to place sixth at the Doc Hale VT Meet. Her previous record was 4.26m (13' 11.75"), which she set in her collegiate debut last season, also in Blacksburg, Va. For her record-breaking performance, Nichols collected her second career Sun Belt Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week honor.
Freshman
Ashlynn Wimberly registered a pair of first-place finishes in the women's high jump and women's triple jump. Wimberly recorded a clearance of 1.66m (5' 5.25") in the women's high jump as well as a personal best leap of 12.43m (40' 9.5") in the women's triple jump. Fellow freshman
Alana Braxton placed second in the women's long jump (5.98m (19' 7.5")) and third in the women's triple jump (12.22m (40' 1.25")).
On the track at the Doc Hale VT Meet, four Mountaineers finished among the top 10 in the women's 400 meters, led by senior
Damyja Alejandro-Ortiz, who recorded a time of 56.13 to place third. The women's distance medley relay (DMR) quartet of sophomore

Tessa Massa, senior
Maddie Quinn, and freshman
Lika Strydom recorded a third-place finish with a time of 12:28.20.
At the Camel City Sprints and Distance meets, sophomore
Emily Edwards rounded out the top five in the women's weight throw (16.31m (53' 6.25")) and finished among the top 10 in the women's shot put (12.97m (42' 6.75")).
In the Rankings
Nichols, who continues to lead the SBC, rose to fifth in the NCAA Southeast Region and 29th nationally in the women's pole vault category. Studney ranks second in the league and joins Nichols in the region's top 20 in the event. The women's 4x400-meter relay squad of juniors

Daye Talley, and Alejandro-Ortiz ranks third in the SBC and 14th in the region, while the women's DMR team of Battel, Massa, Quinn, and Strydom round out the league's top five and rank 11th in the region. Wimberly ranks second in the league in the women's triple jump and rounds out the region's top 15 in the women's high jump and triple jump. Junior
Kendall Johnson ranks second in the Sun Belt and 14th in the region in the women's 60 meters. Alejandro-Ortiz ranks second in the SBC and rounds out the region's top 25 in the women's 400 meters. Braxton rounds out the league's top five and the region's top 20 in the women's triple jump and women's long jump.

The Sun Belt Indoor Track & Field Championships are scheduled for Feb. 23-24 at the Birmingham Crossplex in Birmingham, Ala. Both days of the championship meet will be available to stream on ESPN+.
