RALEIGH, N.C. — Posting a second straight top-20 finish, App State Women's Golf senior
Layla Meric tied for 17th place Saturday to lead the Mountaineers at the City of Oaks Collegiate.
App State placed 15th among 17 teams, ranking fourth out of five Sun Belt teams with a 327-317-329—973 total (109 over) on the par-72 layout at Lonnie Poole.
Meric finished with a 14-over total of 230 after shooting a 3-over 75 in the first round and a 4-over 76 in the second round. She closed with a 79.
Salem Lee tied for 48th at 24 over (80-77-83—240), while
Mary-Sears Brown was 83rd at 36 over (86-82-84—252).
Ona Lukes finished 85th at 38 over (89-82-83—254), and
Jacquelyn Taylor tied for 91st at 46 over (86-86-90—262).
East Carolina, led by individual medalist Danielle Modder at 2 over, won the team title by 17 strokes with a 22-over total.
The 2024-25 season is presented by Hungry Howie's and Penn Station.
