Ethan Lipham has been selected as the first Sun Belt Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the 2024 campaign, the league announced Wednesday.
The Largo, Fla. native set pace for the Mountaineers at the Covered Bridge Open on Aug. 30, clinching first with a 6K personal best of 18:14.8. His finish helped the Black and Gold to a first-place team finish with a score of 18 points.
This marks Lipham's third career SBC Cross Country Runner of the Week selection, after earning the recognition twice during the 2022 season.
Lipham and the Mountaineers return to the course on Sept. 13 for the Firetower Project Run at the Don Kennedy Trails at State Farm in Boone, N.C. The Men's 8K is slated for 6 p.m., with the women's 6K to follow at 6:40 p.m.
