BOONE, N.C. - The App State women's basketball team will round out its four-game road-stretch with a stop in Conway, S.C. for a 1 p.m. game against Coastal Carolina. The Mountaineers are seeking a season sweep against the Chants, having defeated CCU at the Holmes Center earlier this year.

App State fell short to Marshall, 81-69, in Huntington, W. Va. on Jan. 31. Senior
Faith Alston recorded her 14th game as the Mountaineers' top scorer, netting 16 points on the night. She also dished out a team-high four assists. Juniors

J'Mani Ingram netted 15, and 10 points, respectively. For a fifth consecutive game,
Rylan Moffitt was App State's top rebounder, pulling down eight rebounds. App State shot 47.6% from the field and scored 24 points off the bench.
Ranked Mountaineers
In league-only action, Alston checks in at fourth in the assists category. Alston and Moffitt round out the top-five for scoring and rebounding, respectively. The Mountaineers rank third for 3-pointers made, fourth for steals, and fifth for team defensive rebounds during conference play.
For the season thus far, Alston ranks second in the league and 14th nationally for total free throws. She also ranks in the top-five in the Sun Belt in assists, assists per game, total field goals, points, points per game, total steals, and steals per game. Moffitt stands third in the conference in total rebounds and rebounds per game in addition to rounding out the top-five in blocks per game. As a team, App State rounds out the top-five in the league for free throws made per game and made 3-pointers per game. The Mountaineers also stand sixth in the league in steals per game and turnovers forced per game.
Last Time Against Coastal Carolina
App State posted a 73-63 victory over Coastal Carolina in the Holmes Center on Jan. 18. Five Mountaineers netted double-figures, led by Alston, who recorded a double-double with 15 points and a career-high 10 assists. Fifth-year senior

Lexi Bugajski each shot 3-of-4 from the arc. The Mountaineers shot 40% from the field, arc, and line. App State also held Coastal Carolina to one 3-point basket and caused 18 CCU turnovers.
Scouting Coastal Carolina
Coastal Carolina (8-15 (2-8 SBC)) enters Saturday's contest after a 73-55 victory over Georgia Southern on Thursday. Since their meeting with the Mountaineers on Jan. 18, the Chanticleers dropped road contests to Marshall, Louisiana, and ULM.
Deaja Richardson, Makaila Cange, and Arin Freeman remain Coastal Carolina's top scorers, averaging 14.9, 12.9, and 12.5 points per game, respectively. Cange has shot 56.7% from the field, while Freeman has shot 65.2% from the line. Cange continues to lead the Chants in the rebounds category, while Freeman continues to lead the team in the assists category.
On the Horizon
App State will host ULM on Feb. 7 at 6:30 p.m. and will celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day. The Mountaineers will then head to Kalamazoo, Mich. to take on Western Michigan for the second installment of the MAC/SBC Challenge.
