BOONE, N.C. - The App State women's track & field team is set to resume indoor competition with the Mondo College Invite at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C. on Jan. 13. The meet is scheduled for a 9:30 a.m. start and will be available to stream on the Runnerspace +PLUS stream.

App State opened the 2023-24 campaign on Dec. 2 at the Visit Winston-Salem College Kick-Off at the JDL Fast Track. In the women's pole vault,
Ava Studney clinched first with a clearance of 3.65m (11' 11.75"). Graduate student
Celia Agee placed second with a clearance of 3.50m (11' 5.75"), while sophomore
Caroline Fowlkes took fourth with a clearance of 3.35m (10' 11.75"). Senior
Taylor Smith landed third in the women's long jump with a leap of 5.63m (18' 5.75") while junior
Daiyanna Cooper took sixth in the women's shot put with a toss of 13.45m (44' 1.5").
On the track, freshman
Jayla Adams and sophomore
Daye Talley posted fifth-place finishes in the women's 60 meters (7.70) and 200 meters (25.83, PR), respectively. In the women's 60-meter hurdles, graduate student
Alexia Moehling finished sixth with a time of 8.96, which places her at ninth in the App State all-time list. In her first women's 600-meter race of the indoor season, sophomore
Addison Ollendick-Smith stopped the clock at 1:39.01 to place sixth. Her time was within two seconds of her personal best and App State program record of 1:37.90.
Ranked Mountaineers
Talley leads the Sun Belt in the women's 200 meters. In the women's 60 meters, Adams checks in at second with fellow freshman
Kendall Johnson rounding out the top-five. Cooper, Smith, and Studney rank fourth in the shot put, long jump, and pole vault, respectively.
Four Mountaineers rank among the top-25 in the NCAA Southeast Region. Cooper stands 13th in the women's shot put category, while Smith ranks 15th in the women's long jump. Studney stands 19th in the women's pole vault and Talley rounds out the top-25 in the women's 200 meters.

The Mountaineers will travel to Lynchburg, Va. to compete in Liberty's Brant Tolsma Invitational on Jan. 19-20. Field events are scheduled for a 3 p.m. start on Friday, with running events to start at 6 p.m. Saturday's competition is slated for an 11 a.m. start.
