HARRISONBURG, Va. – App State softball is headed to James Madison for a weekend series against the Dukes at Veterans Memorial Park.

SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS (22-23, 3-13 SBC)
- App State picked up a series win against Georgia State at home last weekend, sweeping a Friday doubleheader before falling in extra innings during the series finale on Sunday.
- Kaley Coltrain finished the series opener with a walk-off home run, her first hit back from an injury that caused her to miss a month of action. Coltrain has slammed a team-high five homers this season.
- Mary Pierce Barnes has recorded nine hits in her last three games, becoming the No. 1 batter in the Sun Belt during conference play with an average of .479.
- The Mountaineers are currently half a game back from a Sun Belt tournament spot in a race that will likely last through the final day of the regular season.
SCOUTING THE DUKES (24-16, 9-9 SBC)
- James Madison has split its last two Sun Belt series, winning two of three games against Troy before going 1-2 against Marshall.
- The Dukes are 11th in the nation in home runs per game, averaging 1.35. Hannah Shifflett leads the pack with 15 and is one of four players on the team with at least seven.
- Alissa Humphrey has pitched the most innings for the Dukes with an 8-8 record and an ERA of 3.08.
- This will be the fourth meeting between the two programs in a series that James Madison leads, 2-1.

App State will close the regular season with a home series against Coastal Carolina next weekend.
