Coltrain joins the Mountaineer squad as a utility infielder that will contribute as a catcher and first baseman. Despite being homeschooled, she played high school softball as well as travel ball. Between the two teams she played for, Coltrain blasted a staggering 118 home runs. As a constant threat on the offensive end, the Roper, N.C. native posted a .479 batting average and a .651 on-base percentage. The graduate transfer started her collegiate playing career with a four-year stint at Marist College in New York. Over the course of her undergraduate career, Coltrain posted a .354 batting average. She tallied 20 home runs and 76 runs batted in. Her freshman campaign featured a spot on the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference All-Rookie Team. She was a First Team All-MAAC selection and was tabbed to the MAAC All-Championship Team while also being a member of the MAAC All-Academic Team.
