Ogle Joins Softball Coaching Staff as Assistant Coach

BOONE, N.C. – After her first season in Boone as the Director of Softball Operations, head coach Whitney Jones announced Monday that Courtney Ogle has transitioned to a new role within the App State Softball program as assistant coach.

"Coach O's diligence and love for our people make our program better every day," Jones said. "She's demonstrated a natural ability to connect and bring out the very best in our student-athletes. Her experience at all levels, including helping to lead Washington to the WCWS in 2023 as a graduate assistant, brings a championship-level mindset to our culture.

"I look forward to elevating with Courtney on board in this role and having Courtney in the recruiting space to help find our next Mountaineers and continuing to put App State #OTM!"

Before joining the Mountaineers' coaching staff, Ogle spent a year as an assistant coach at Alvin Community College in Alvin, Texas. She helped lead the Dolphins to 13 conference wins and a victory in the Region XIV Tournament over Bossier Parish.

"I couldn't be more excited to step into this role and continue working alongside this amazing staff," Ogle said. "A foundation for excellence has been set, and I'm excited to pick up where we left off last season as we continue to take this program to places it's never been before. Our athletes are one of a kind, and 'my why' is fueled by them. I'm so thankful for Coach Whit entrusting me to be a part of her vision for this program. These are my people, and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

"I'm excited to hit the recruiting trail running to help bring another game-changer to this great program."

Ogle also spent a year at Washington as a graduate assistant under head coach Heather Tarr. Ogle oversaw daily coaching duties at Washington, as well as game day operations. She was a part of 44 wins and made an appearance in the Women's College World Series in her lone year with the Huskies.

A 2022 graduate of the University of Texas-Arlington, Ogle spent three years with the Mavericks, playing in 77 games at catcher and designated player. Ogle was named a 2022 NFCA All-American Scholar Athlete and was UTA softball's Student Athletic Advisory Committee representative.

Ogle began her playing career at Blinn College in Brenham, Texas, where she appeared in 71 games over two years. She helped lead the Buccaneers to a program-best 23-1 conference record her sophomore year and participated in two NJCAA Regionals. She bashed a team-high seven home runs and tallied 19 extra-base hits in her sophomore season.

A native of Austin, Texas, Ogle graduated from UTA with a degree in Clinical Health in 2022 and earned her master's degree in Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership from Washington in 2023.
