App State Softball Names Jessica Dreswick as Pitching Coach

BOONE, N.C. – App State Softball head coach Whitney Jones announced the addition of Jessica Dreswick to the softball coaching staff Monday.

Dreswick arrives in Boone after three seasons at Tulsa, where she oversaw the development of the Golden Hurricane pitching staff and contributed to player development and recruiting efforts.

"I'm excited to welcome Jessica Dreswick to App State as our new pitching coach. She has competed and won at the highest level, and that experience will be invaluable as she mentors our student-athletes both on and off the field. Jessica brings a proven track record of developing successful pitching staffs, and I look forward to seeing our pitchers grow and thrive under her guidance and leadership." Jones said.

"She is a highly regarded recruiter who has built strong relationships throughout the softball community, and those connections will be a tremendous asset to our program. Jessica is a perfect fit for the culture we're building at App State, and I have no doubt she will elevate our program in every area—especially our pitching unit—as we continue pursuing excellence."

Dreswick made an immediate impact at Tulsa in 2024, helping the Golden Hurricane lower their ERA from 6.02 to 4.31 while limiting opponents to a .235 batting average, the program's lowest full-season mark since 2017. Tulsa finished the season 30-23 with seven shutout victories, highlighted by a 3-0 win over No. 4 Oklahoma State. During her tenure, one of Dreswick's pitchers earned three Pitcher of the Week honors, including one in 2024 and two in 2026.

Tulsa opened both the 2025 and 2026 American Athletic Conference tournaments with victories, including a 1-0 shutout win in 2025. The Golden Hurricane also earned a 3-1 victory over ACC opponent Pitt during the 2026 season.

"I am incredibly honored to join App State and pour into the pitching staff and this program." Dreswick said. "I want to thank Coach Whitney, the administration, and the rest of the staff for welcoming me into their elevating program. I can't wait to join the App State community and get to work."

Prior to Tulsa, Dreswick spent two seasons at Longwood, helping the Lancers to back-to-back 30-win seasons and consecutive Big South regular-season championships while coaching 15 all-conference selections. In 2023, Longwood earned wins over No. 4 Florida State and No. 8 Duke and finished with the highest NCAA RPI ranking in program history.

As a player at Boston College, Dreswick became one of the most accomplished pitchers in program history, setting the school record with 59 career wins while finishing among the program's all-time leaders in ERA, strikeouts and innings pitched. She helped lead the Eagles to consecutive 30-win seasons and threw the first perfect game in school history.

Following her collegiate career, Dreswick competed professionally and internationally before beginning her coaching career. She pitched for clubs in the Czech Republic, Italy and South Australia, winning the Italian National Championship in 2019 and reaching the Australian National Final in 2020. During the offseason, she also coached high school-aged players.

A native of Flemington, N.J., Dreswick graduated from Boston College in 2018 with a bachelor's degree in communication.
