MADISON, Miss. — App State Men's Golf will tee off Monday to start the Sun Belt Championship tournament, which is being held at Annandale Golf Club in Mississippi, north of Jackson.
The tournament features three rounds of stroke play (Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday) on the par-72, 7,190-yard course. The top four teams advance to Thursday's match play semifinals and final.
Each day of the championship will be broadcast live on ESPN+ with live results on GolfStat.

On Monday, the Mountaineers will be paired with golfers from Louisiana and Georgia State, with 10th hole tee times ranging from 9:15 a.m. to 9:51 a.m.
Of the six golfers in the mix to play for App State, only two have competed previously at the Sun Belt Championship event: Lukas Jönsson and Sverrir "Sweppy" Haraldsson.

Josh Buxbaum will be available to make their Sun Belt Championship debuts.
Five golfers play in each round, and the top four individual scores count toward the team total. With six players on site, head coach
Alan Cress is allowed to choose his lineup or make changes on a round-by-round basis. To open the event, the Mountaineers plan to go with a lineup of Jönsson, Browning, Huus, Beam and Haraldsson.

The field has grown from 12 teams to 14 with the departures of two 2022 league members and additions of James Madison, Old Dominion, Southern Miss and Marshall. There are five teams ranked in the top 100 by GolfStat, led by No. 26 Georgia Southern and Masters competitor Ben Carr.
Beam has a team-leading scoring average of 71.72 in the 2022-23 season, followed by Jönsson at 72.12. They've both produced seven rounds in the 60s and 14 rounds of par or better.
Beam, Jönsson, Huus and Browning all have a top-six individual finish in 2022-23. Beam, Jönsson, Huus, Browning and Haraldsson all have a round of 65 or 66 this season.
Last year, App State tied for eighth place after starting the final day just two shots out of fourth place.
Opened in 1981, Annandale Golf Club was designed by Jack Nicklaus. It has played host to numerous championship events, including serving as home to the PGA Tour Sanderson Farms Championship from 1994 to 2013.
