Trailed by two shots at the 54th hole of the Surf Club Invitational before making a 20-foot birdie putt that helped force a two-man playoff with the 36-hole leader who bogeyed the 18th hole ... Won the playoff hole (also the par-3 18th hole) with a tap-in par to become App State's first medalist in a spring event since 2013 ... Two-time Sun Belt Player of the Week ... Led team with a 72.13 scoring average (or 0.74 over par) in 32 rounds over 11 tournaments (third-best in program history and best outside of the COVID-shortened 2019-20 season) ... Six top-10 finishes in first eight events, highlighted by a tie for third in the fall at the River Run Collegiate (72-76-66—214) ... Closed fall season with a final-round 65 (6 under) at the Elon Phoenix Invitational, where he tied for fourth place ... Final-round 65 included a 7-under 29 on the back nine, highlighted by a 6-under stretch on the first five holes after making the turn ... Other top-10s came at the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational (T-7th), JT Poston Invitational (T-9th), Bash at the Beach (T-9th in spring) and Wofford Invitational (T-8th in spring) ... 2021-22: Sophomore 

Averaged 73.08 strokes over 26 rounds, with nine tournament appearances … Career-best 68 (after a second-round 69) led to a 3-under total of 210 (tied for career best) at the 54-hole Phoenix Invitational on a par-71 layout during the fall … Made four spring starts, tying for ninth place at the Sea Palms Collegiate thanks to a final-round 69 (on a par-71 layout) … In five fall starts, also tied for 28^th at the J.T. Poston Invitational (with rounds of 71-72-71—214) on the par-71 layout and tied for 23^rd place at the Highlander Invitational.

2020-21: Freshman

Competed in three events totaling 12 rounds of play ... Posted a season-best finish of T13 at the J.T. Poston Invitational

2019-20: COVID season (No eligibility used)

Competed in a total of five events as a freshman, once as a an individual... Amassed 15 rounds of play... Despite a shorten season, Beam’s 72.73 scoring average was the lowest among all freshmen in the Sun Belt... Individual average was the team’s third lowest for the season... Led the way for the Apps at the Bash at the Beach with a career-best, to-par score of 6-under-par (210)... Finished tied for fifth on the Bash’s leaderboard, a career-best finish.

High School/Other Info:

Beam chose to further his academic and athletic career in-state following graduation from that of the Highland School of Technology out of Gastonia, N.C. He earned all-conference recognition as a junior, and then went on to claim an individual title as a senior as part of the 2018 1A State Championships. Outside of golf, Beam has earned the rank of Eagle Scout.
