Men's Golf Makes Debut Under Cole Sunday in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — App State Men's Golf begins its 2025-26 schedule Sunday with the opening 18 holes of the 54-hole Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Collegiate, which is scheduled to conclude Tuesday at the Grande Dunes Golf Club.

It will be the Mountaineers' debut under new head coach John Michael Cole, a App State alum who led Georgia State's program last season. App State's roster includes 10 returners and one newcomer: Max Cranford, who played three seasons for and graduated from Wofford.

App State's lineup in South Carolina will be made up of Ben Read, Herman Huus, Cranford, Cole Bergheim and Alex Martin. Rob Bergevin will also compete as an individual.

Sixteen teams are currently scheduled to compete on the par-72 layout.

The 2025-26 season is presented by Hound Ears Club.
