BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - App State junior
Taylor Smith landed 26th overall in the women's long jump at the NCAA East Preliminary Round in Bloomington, Ind. on Thursday.
Smith, who earned Second-Team All-Sun Belt accolades this season, posted a leap of 5.88m (19' 3.5") and finished fourth in her flight.
The Northern Charleston, S.C. native entered the competition ranked 46th in the East Region in the women's long jump category, qualifying for the NCAA preliminary meet with her personal best leap of 6.11m (20' 0.5"), set at the Sun Belt Championships (May 12-14). Smith caps the season tied for fifth with Linda McCoy in the App State all-time list in the event.
