Women's Tennis Set for Road Match at Radford on Wednesday

RADFORD, Va. -- App State women's tennis will play its third consecutive road match on Wednesday, traveling to take on Radford at 2 p.m.

SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS

• App State dropped a 4-1 decision at East Carolina on Saturday. The Mountaineers captured the doubles points getting a 6-0 win at No. 1 doubles from the tandem of Helena Jansen and Ellie Murphy and a 6-2 victory at the No. 2 doubles position from Erika Dodridge and Virginia Poggi. Murphy was up a set at No. 4 singles and Olwyn Ryan-Bovey had split sets at No. 5 singles when the match was called.
• On the season, Dodridge has a team-best nine total victories and a team leading four doubles wins.
• Jansen has seven total victories on the season and leads the Mountaineers with six singles victories.

SCOUTING THE HIGHLANDERS

• Radford enters play with a 1-0 mark after defeating Bluefield State College 7-0 on. Feb. 1.
• Against Bluefield State, Radford set the tone in doubles play. Emily Brandow and Malin Falk picked right up from last spring with a 6-2 win on court one. Salma Loudill and Priscilla Stojanovska won easily on court two 6-1 while Camryn McClure and Marielle Leahy finished doubles play off with a 6-2 win on court three.
• In singles play, Loudili won on court one 6-1, 6-2. Falk gave Radford a 3-0 lead with her 6-4, 6-1 win on court two, while Brandow clinched the match with a 6-0, 6-2 win on court three. Stojanovska made her Highlander debut and cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win on court five. McClure and Leahy finished singles play with wins on courts four and six, respectively.
