In the previous three road games of the current stretch, the Mountaineers won at Coastal Carolina before falling at UT Arlington and Georgia Southern. All three previous games were decided by less than 10 points, including the Coastal and Georgia Southern contests in the final possession.

With four games remaining in league play, App State is tied for fourth in the Sun Belt standings. Georgia State is 11th. The top four teams in the standings at the end of the regular season will receive a bye into the quarterfinals of the March 2-7 Sun Belt Tournament in Pensacola, Fla.

NOTABLES:

• All eight of App State's league games have been decided by 11 points or less, with an average margin of 6.3 points.

• The Mountaineers have started 5-3 in Sun Belt play for the second straight year.

• The Mountaineers' recent five-game winning streak in league play was their best since joining the Sun Belt in 2014. Last year, the Mountaineers won their final three regular-season games before winning their first two at the Sun Belt Tournament. In their last 14 games against Sun Belt opponents dating back to last year, the Mountaineers are 10-4.

• Last time out, App State dropped an 82-80 decision to Georgia Southern in overtime despite leading for most of regulation and OT. Alexia Allesch connected on three 3-pointers in overtime – good for nine of her career-high 21 points – with her third triple giving App State a 78-76 lead with 1:32 left. But the Eagles' combination of Maya Banks and Terren Ward helped give the home team the win. It snapped the Mountaineers' three-game win streak against GS.

• App State forces 20.9 turnovers per game, good for 19th in the nation and second in the SBC.

• The Mountaineers are not afraid to shoot from deep, topping the Sun Belt and ranking 19th in the country with 590 3-point attempts this season.

Alexia Allesch, a transfer from Seton Hall, leads the team with 13.6 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. She has been on fire in Sun Belt play, averaging 16.4 points (6th in SBC) and 10.4 boards (2nd in SBC) per outing. She is one of three Sun Belt players averaging a double-double in league games.

• Preseason All-Sun Belt third teamer Michaela Porter averages 12.8 points (7th in SBC), while adding 6.1 rebounds, 2.0 assists and a league-best 2.6 steals.

Janay Sanders is third on the team and ranks 13th in the Sun Belt with 12.0 ppg, including a career-high 22 at Mercer, 19 at Duke and 18 at Coastal Carolina.
