Women's Soccer Hosts South Alabama on Thursday

BOONE, N.C. -  App State women's soccer will host South Alabama on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Ted Mackorell Soccer Complex.

Last Time Out
The Mountaineers dropped a hard-fought battle against Georgia State on Sunday afternoon, as it fell 1-0, after a game-winning goal by the Panthers.

The first half of the match was tightly contested with no score, as possession was even between the two teams. The Black and Gold battled until the final minute of the contest, and created plenty of scoring opportunities, as it tallied nine shots with two being on goal. 

In the 76th minute of the contest, Georgia State scored its lone goal for the victory.

The teams fought toe-to-toe until the final minute of the match.

Thus far, the Mountaineers are 4-5-1 overall, and 0-3 in conference play.

Scouting the Jaguars
South Alabama is 6-3-1 overall and 2-1-1 in conference play, tallying a 1-0 shutout victory against Louisiana on Sunday, after a header produced South Alabama's lone goal. The defending Sun Belt champion finished 10-3-2 overall, and 6-2-2 in the league last season. The Jaguars return starter, Gracie Wilson, who currently leads the team in goals with seven.
