BOONE, N.C. – App State Football's Nov. 27 regular-season finale against Georgia Southern has been tabbed as the program's annual Black Saturday game.
The Mountaineers and Eagles are scheduled to meet on the last Saturday of the regular season (aka, Rivalry Weekend) for the first time in the storied history of a series that dates back to 1932. The convergence of one of the nation's best rivalries and the Mountaineers' Black Saturday tradition should produce an electric atmosphere at Kidd Brewer Stadium.
Last year, App State used a late
Jalen Virgil 100-yard kickoff return and 70-yard
Nate Noel run to come from behind and win 34-26 in Statesboro after the game was moved from Oct. 14 to Dec. 12.
App State previously announced that its Sept. 18 home opener against Elon will serve as
Family Weekend and will feature the 2021 Hall of Fame class and a special tribute to legendary coach Jerry Moore. The Oct. 30 game against ULM will be
Homecoming.
Football season tickets for new customers and tickets for App State's Sept. 2 Queen City Takeover game against East Carolina in Charlotte will both go
on sale to the general public May 17 at appstatesports.com/tickets.
Those who expressed interest in new season tickets during the renewal period (deadline was April 30) will be contacted by the App State Athletics Ticket Office by May 17 about their seat allocations.
2021 single-game tickets for home games at Kidd Brewer Stadium will go on sale at a later date, if they become available.
