BOONE, N.C. — App State Wrestling is hosting a marquee early season tournament Sunday with the arrival of the Mountaineer Invitational.

Seven teams are scheduled to participate, with the Big Ten, Pac-12, ACC, Big 12, MAC and Southern Conference all represented. Competition in Varsity Gym is scheduled to begin on six mats at 9 a.m., with doors opening to fans at 8 a.m., and live scoring will be available through FloArena.

Tickets, which are $8 for adults and $4 for youth, can be purchased at the Rivers Street entrance to Varsity Gym or online by clicking HERE.

There are 24 wrestlers with top-32 preseason rankings from Intermat scheduled to compete, highlighted by four ranked wrestlers (and five returning NCAA qualifiers) at 149 pounds, including 2021 All-Americans from App State (Jonathan Millner) and Arizona State (Fresno State transfer Kyle Parco), plus Duke's Josh Finesilver, Indiana's Graham Rooks and Kent State's Kody Komara.

The 165-pound class also has three returning NCAA qualifiers: Anthony Valencia (All-American from Arizona State), Will Formato (App State) and RJ Mosley (Gardner-Webb).
