Tess Cairney in the 87th minute of the contest, giving the Apps their first home win of the season and matched last season's win total in league action.

Scouting The Citadel
The Citadel heads into Thursday's contest with a 1-2-1 mark while the Apps and the Bulldogs have faced familiar foes in Georgia Southern and Pitt. The Bulldogs' lone win came in a 2-1 victory over Georgia Southern in their season opener. Logan Dix leads her team with three of the four goals scored, giving Dix six points on the season. Zoey Conrad has the squad's other goal. Jess Newton has played all four matches between the posts, allowing a 1.17 goals-against average with 18 saves and a .783 save percentage. The Citadel brings back 11 starters and 21 letterwinners from last season's team.
Series History
App State owns the series mark with a 9-3-1 record. The last time these two squared off was in 2013 when the Apps scored a staggering nine goals in a 9-3 victory.
