BOONE, N.C. - In the final full week of September, App State Athletics is proud to highlight its community partner, the Hunger and Health Coalition, for the final stretch of National Hunger Action Month.
In most years, the Hunger and Health Coalition holds a canned food drive outside the Kidd Brewer Stadium gates at a late September App State football game. Due to the pandemic and its effects, the annual pregame canned food drive will not take place this year, which is expected to significantly decrease the coalition's typical influx of foods at this time of year for its food pantry supply. However, the pandemic has only increased the need for food for many families in the High Country.
Please join App State Athletics in supporting the Hunger & Health Coalition with an online, monetary gift this week at
https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/hungerandhealthco. For locals, you can drop off in-date, non-perishable canned food items at a drive-by drop off location at the App State Women's Soccer match on Friday, Sept. 25 at the Ted Mackorell Soccer Complex. While the game itself is closed to the general public due to state and local guidelines, the limited-contact, drive-by donation will be available from 12:30-2 p.m. prior to the start of the match.
