App Family,
Happy Thanksgiving!
As the fall season winds down and winter sports get started, we are busy hosting various events, serving our student-athletes and building for future success.
We are incredibly thankful to App Nation for your support as you continue to rally behind our teams with pride, energy and passion.
Fall Success
This fall has had many exceptional moments and achievements across the athletics department. The most recent include:
- Savannah Dada-Mascoll earned All-America honors by advancing to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Women's Tennis Championships in singles last week. The first in program history to compete in singles at NCAAs, Sav is an exceptional ambassador for the Mountaineers, on and off the court!
- 2025 Sun Belt Men's and Women's Cross Country Champions … Back-to-back titles for the women and back-to-back-to-back for the men! Congratulations to men's coach Brad Herbster and women's coach Annie Richards, who both repeated as Sun Belt Coaches of the Year.
Support a Strong Football Finish
This Saturday we will honor 20+ seniors for giving their All for App State in our regular season finale at The Rock against Arkansas State. The winning team will become bowl eligible.
Our coaches and players continue to strive for daily excellence. Their gritty 26-24 win against Marshall last week was a testament to their hard work, character and never-quit attitude.
Now is the time for all of App Nation to rally behind this team and program.
- Get your Black Friday sale tickets today and experience one of college football's top 25 environments this Saturday.
- Donate to the Football Support Fund. This fund helps us continue to retain and recruit high-level talent and provide a world-class experience for our student-athletes. The college football landscape keeps evolving, and our NIL fund is imperative for us to remain competitive in this landscape.
Coach Dowell Loggains has a strategic vision for building this program the right way. He and his staff are recruiting high school and junior college prospects at an elite level. The January transfer portal will provide more opportunities to bolster next year's roster, and the staff is focused on developing their players in Boone at a high level.
We look forward to welcoming all our new Mountaineers over the next two months.
Winter Sports in Full Swing
Men's basketball, women's basketball and wrestling seasons are underway, and our women's indoor track & field season is just around the corner.
Men's basketball has quality wins against North Carolina Central, Dartmouth and Charlotte. We encourage everyone to make plans for the
Dec. 14 game against High Point in Hickory, just minutes away from App State's Hickory campus, and to cheer on the Mountaineers at all our home games at the Holmes Center.
Women's basketball is 5-2 with key victories against Western Michigan, Wofford and UNC Asheville.
This long-range shot from the opposite 3-point line was featured at No. 8 last week on SportsCenter's Top 10 Plays.
Wrestling, coming off another SoCon title-winning campaign last year, has faced a rigorous schedule in its opening two weeks with a signature upcoming home dual against top 10-ranked NC State on Sunday ahead of their league schedule starting in January.
Season and single-game tickets for all ticketed sports are available at
appstatesports.com/tickets.
Mountaineer Laughs Returns Jan. 16
If you are looking to have a relaxing, fun night in downtown Boone, the second installment of our Mountaineer Laughs series will take place Jan. 16. All proceeds benefit App State Athletics. Comedian Dale Jones, with an opening act by Tyrone Burston, will perform a comedy show at the Appalachian Theatre on King Street.
Buy your tickets now. We encourage you to visit our local businesses and restaurants while you're here for the show.
Facilities Progress
Several facility improvements will further enhance App State student-athletes' training and competition experiences on the mountain.
Construction on the new Sofield Family Indoor Practice Facility is progressing, including significant grading work to prepare for the larger footprint of the new building.
Baseball's new hitting facility extension is currently out to bid, with construction to commence in 2026.
The Mildred Southern indoor tennis facility is on pace for completion in April.
Earlier this month, we met with architects as we narrow down the choices for the lead designer of Kidd Brewer Stadium's East Tower project. It will be a signature part of one of the best stadiums in the country when it opens. If you are interested in premium seat options in this future facility, contact
mountaineersathleticfund@appstate.edu.
Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to seeing you on the mountain as we close out this year strong.
Go App!
