Eagleston Named Preseason All-Sun Belt

NEW ORLEANS - App State women's soccer goalkeeper Kerry Eagleston was named to the All-Sun Belt Preseason Team on Thursday, as the league announced the preseason conference team and poll on Thursday.

"This is a well-deserved honor for Kerry,"said head coach Sarah Strickland. "She has grown so much over the last year and has continued to make an impact on our program. We cannot wait for opening weekend to be able to represent App Nation with our veterans and the new faces on our team." 

Eagleston enters her sophomore season after being the primary goalkeeper as a freshman in 2019. The Winston-Salem native played and started all 18 matches between the posts with 1,654 minutes of action.

She finished second in the Sun Belt and led all freshmen with 77 saves, while her 4.28 saves per game were third in the league and first among first-year goalkeepers. Eagleston posted two clean sheets with one coming in league play against Arkansas State. 

Eagleston is one of 14 returning players and 11 newcomers going into the season.
