Box Score ORLANDO, Fla. - After back-to-back losses last week, App State women's tennis bounced back and captured an impressive 6-1 win over Navy on the campus of United States Tennis Association (USTA).
The Mountaineers improve to 6-4 while handing the Mids just their fourth loss in 20 matches.
App State won the doubles point and claimed five of six singles matches for their second win away from home.

Kate Earnhardt won their fourth match of the season after downing Casey Accola and Amanda Cyr in a convincing 6-0 triumph to get the Apps off to a solid beginning.
Cassie McLay and
María José Zacarias clinched the doubles point as the No. 1 tandem over Aimee Dervishian/Annalise Klopfer, 6-4, after Navy won on Court No. 2. McLay and Zacarias are 5-3 on the season.
Atay got the Apps out to a fast start in singles, helping push the lead to two points following a straight-set 6-1, 6-3 triumph over Accola as the No. 6 in the lineup.
Sasha Pisareva continued her dominance in singles with a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Klopfer.
Capping off a solid day for McLay was a 6-3, 6-1 clinching win against Kacey Moore as the No. 2 in the lineup. Navy tallied its lone point on the fifth court before Earnhardt and Zacarias each won three-set tiebreaking contests.
Earnhardt defeated Meghana Komarraju after facing a one-set deficit. The Concord, N.C. native came back to win the final two frames, 6-3, 1-0 (10-7), for her third victory of the season.
Zacarias improved to 6-3 on the season after she upended Jillian Taggart. The junior won the first set, 6-3, fell in the second and bounced back for the 1-0 (10-6) triumph.
The quartet of Atay, Earnhardt, McLay and Zacarias all won their singles and doubles matches, and Pisareva is 9-0 in singles.
App State will head back to Boone, where it will host Arkansas State on Friday at 2 p.m. for the conference opener.
