BOONE, N.C. — Appalachian State alum Herman Norman will be inducted into the North Carolina Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum on Sunday, May 19.
Norman, Jim Cox, Gary Ollis, David Perry, Tripp Price and Alan Sewell will be recognized for their "Lifetime Service to Wrestling" in a ceremony at the Friday Center in Chapel Hill.
The doors open at 2 p.m., and the banquet starts at 3 p.m. Tickets are $50.
A Yadkin County native, Norman earned degrees in Health and Physical Education (1973) and School Administration (1975) from App State before becoming a successful teacher and coach at the high school and college levels, namely at Wilkes Community College.
