Scouting the Mountaineers
The Apps hit a new program record for the longest winning streak with eight straight wins after a win this weekend at the Lipscomb Purple/Gold Challenge.
App State finished this weekend with a 1-3 record, including a nine-inning loss against Miami (OH) and a tight game against Eastern Illinois that came down to the last at-bat.
Kenzie Longanecker leads the pitching staff with a 5-0 record in 37.2 innings pitched.
Sydney Holland hangs onto the lowest ERA at 2.35 in her 30.2 innings pitched.
Scouting the Tigers
The Tigers are 2-6 after their home-opening tournament, the Tiger Classic. They went 1-2 with a 4-3 win over ETSU. They have also faced South Alabama foe South Alabama, resulting in a 9-1 loss in the opening weekend of play.
Bri Vire leads the offense with a .423 average. Raven Loveless has spent the most time in the circle with 24.2 innings pitched and a 3.12 ERA.
Defense
The Mountaineer defense proves stronger than the Tiger defense with only nine errors in 15 games thus far. The Tigers have collected 19 total errors in eight games, averaging over two errors per game.
Combined, the Tiger pitching staff maintains a 3.70 ERA while the Mountaineers hold onto a 2.36 ERA.
Offense
