Men's Tennis Travels to Liberty for Flames Invitational

BOONE, N.C. - Appalachian State men's tennis wraps up the fall slate at the Flames Invitational hosted by Liberty in Lynchburg, Va. 

Blake Carter, Aleksandar Petrovic, Campbell Stone and Karan Srivastava will represent the Black and Gold this weekend. Appalachian 
will join  Liberty, Virginia, Longwood, Navy and James Madison for the three-day event, which will be a hidden dual format. 

The Mountaineers had a week off after a solid weekend in Greenville, S.C. at the Furman Duals, posting 20 wins in a fall tournament for the second straight time. App State went 15-7 in singles and 6-3 in doubles in the tournament. 

Schedule/Format/Results:
Friday, 1 p.m. start: Two rounds of doubles, one round of singles
Saturday, 9 a.m. start: Two rounds of singles
Sunday, 9 a.m. start: One round of doubles, one round of singles

There will be eight pods of four players for singles, where each player will play everyone in the pod. For the final match, the winner of each pod will play a winner from the next best pod. The pod format will ensure that nobody plays a teammate. For doubles, there will be four pods of four doubles teams, with each team playing every other team in its pod.
