CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Appalachian State women's cross country finished 23rd of 63 teams at the Royals Challenge on Friday evening.
App State finished with 627 points in the meet. Lee (Tenn.) won the meet with 90 points.
Bridget Kunkel led the Black and Gold across the finish line, placing 77th overall in a PR time of 18:53.4.
Taylor Houston,
Madison Christy and
Reilly Caldwell also finished in the top-150 in the field, which featured over 500 runners. Houston placed 102nd in a PR mark of 19:05.1, Christy finished 137th in 19:22.4 and Caldwell was 149th in 19:26.1.
Hannah Comesky placed 209th in a PR time of 20:03.0,
Katherine Fearn crossed 225th in 20:11.3 and
Maya Sweeney was 233rd in 20:15.5.
App State will compete again on Oct. 18 at the HPU VertKlasse Open. The race will be the final one for the Mountaineers before the Sun Belt Championships on Nov. 2.
